Personal film essay In this personal and theoretical essay I reflect on my cinematic journey as a director and filmmaker. It developed through the meeting of personal research, practical production and theory. In my films, death returns as threat, absence, grief, erosion of identity and awareness of mortality. At the same time, the form of each work follows the narrative, from the completely static camera and off-screen sound to handheld camera, electronic zoom, pan and tilt, long takes and stillness.
